Do you enjoy working with electronics and improving how things are made and tested — and want to contribute to more energy-efficient technology?
At Maersk Container Industry, we are looking for a structured and proactive EMS Engineer to help strengthen the link between our electronic manufacturing suppliers and internal teams. You will play a key role in ensuring quality, performance, and reliability in the electronics used in our high-tech refrigerated containers.
If you have strong experience in electronics production and enjoy collaborating across functions to drive improvements, we are looking forward to hearing from you.
MCI is located in Tinglev in the Southern part of Denmark, close to Sønderborg, Kolding, and Flensburg. We have strong local roots but act on a truly global stage. At MCI in Tinglev, you will enjoy an informal and supportive atmosphere. We work with the most energy efficient reefer technology and are aware of our contribution to global trade. We always make sure that we have fun and enjoy working with each other.
In your everyday work, you will experience a high degree of independence in a flexible work environment where innovation and quality have very high priority. You will be part of an international company of passionate colleagues who come from different backgrounds and cultures. Furthermore, we have a very good package of employee benefits.
As our Electronic Manufacturing Service (EMS) Engineer, you will serve as the technical point of contact between MCI and our EMS partners. Your focus will be on ensuring efficient, high-quality production processes and reliable test setups.
You will take ownership of the test equipment used at the EMS, manage product and component changes, and support continuous improvements across departments.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owner of the test equipment at EMS (hardware and software)
- Managing change control processes for components, test systems, and product updates
- Coordinating design changes with Procurement, R&D, Quality, and Logistics
- Conducting regular inspections and audits at EMS partners
- Supporting performance improvements, including yield rates and test cycle times, in close cooperation with Quality
- Analyzing production issues and ensuring timely, structured follow-up
- The role includes approximately 60 travel days per year for on-site support and collaboration with EMS partners.
We are looking for an experienced and structured engineer who thrives in a dynamic, cross-functional environment. You bring a strong technical foundation in electronics manufacturing and enjoy solving problems hands-on — always with an eye for detail and quality. You are proactive by nature and communicate clearly with both colleagues and suppliers.
To succeed in this role, you likely bring:
- B.Sc. in Electronics Engineering or similar
- Solid experience in electronics manufacturing, testing, and component handling
- Proficiency in LabView and other relevant engineering tools
- A good understanding of production processes and quality standards
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a structured and independent working style
- Fluency in English; Danish is a plus, but not a requirement
As this is a newly established position in MCI, it is required to have experiences from the same or similar role in previous job.
You are motivated by collaboration and not afraid to challenge solutions with a constructive mindset. You can juggle multiple tasks while keeping the overview — and you know when to zoom in on the technical details and when to move things forward.
MCI is located at its headquarters in Tinglev, where this position is based.
